- Step 3- Throw anything out that you don’t need or want to keep. Don’t bother moving it. The less items the better.
- Step 4 – Get rid of bed bugs in your carpet or rugs: As you will be walking around your home while packing, it is important to steam your carpet to prevent bed bugs from hitching a ride on your socks. You will also want to avoid leaving any clothes, or clothed items on the floor. If you are not throwing out rugs, you will want to thoroughly steam those as well.
